Velvet is an American portrait and fashion photographer with a special interest in dramatic lighting and rich story telling.  She is also the host of The Supper Stories podcast where guests eat nostalgic childhood foods and share their most memorable stories about classic family suppers from their culture. 

She began her creative journey later in life as an experimental creator and member of the Twitch Women’s Guild on Twitch and Youtube. Growing up in a strict and abusive Asian household, creative endeavors and laughing were forbidden. Velvet sought refuge in hip hop music, street racing, watching “I Love lucy”, and movies.

Her interests are hip hop, comedy, yoga, weight lifting, jiu jitsu, great food, and cinema.
